Hai Phong steps up to best achieve 2026 targets

The Party Committee of the Hai Phong People's Committee held a meeting on October 7 to review work in the first nine months of 2026 and set key tasks for the final three months of the year.

Concluding the conference, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the City People's Committee and Chairman of the City People's Committee Do Thanh Trung acknowledged the results achieved by the Party Committee of the City People's Committee in the first nine months of the year.

Party committees at all levels focused on renewing leadership and direction, translating political determination into resolutions, action programs and implementation plans. Digital transformation was promoted in leadership, direction and implementation. Greater attention was paid to developing Party organizations and Party members, with progress exceeding the planned schedule. Socioeconomic development also delivered many notable and comprehensive results.

Trung asked Party committees at all levels, particularly their heads, to focus intensely on their tasks through the end of the year with determination, responsibility and maximum effort. Tasks must be translated into specific actions. At the same time, all programs and plans for 2026 must be reviewed to clearly identify key tasks and those falling behind schedule so as to accelerate efforts to achieve the set targets and objectives.

Regarding socio-economic development, Trung called for continued, resolute and coordinated implementation of the tasks and solutions under the City Party Committee's Resolution No. 11-NQ/TU dated July 15, 2026, with the goal of achieving the highest possible growth target and indicators for 2026.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee also emphasized the need to effectively organize external relations and international integration activities, while strengthening efforts to promote regional linkages and development cooperation with several centrally governed provinces and cities and localities in the Red River Delta.

The city must also make thorough preparations for the 2027 New Year Meeting between secretaries of provincial and regional Party committees and the 18th Joint Working Committee Conference among Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang and Hai Phong (Vietnam) and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China), to be held in Hai Phong.
