On the morning of May 23, the Hai Phong City Union of Friendship Organizations held a briefing conference on the theme ‘Developing the country in the era of the national ascent’.
At the conference, delegates were briefed on key contents regarding the country's new development era in the 21st century.
The report emphasized the foundations for Vietnam to enter a new development phase with many favorable opportunities in economics, society, national defense, security and foreign affairs; it also affirmed the central role of the Party-building, the political system and the great national unity in the process of international integration.
Alongside opportunities, the conference also addressed difficulties and challenges posed by volatile developments in the world and the region.
The conference was assessed as a meaningful, practical activity that helps disseminate and instill the Party's and State's major policies and orientations on national development in the new phase. It also served as a forum to exchange and share information and to raise awareness about the role and responsibility of people-to-people foreign relations in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
