Over 3 million voters in Hai Phong cast their ballots

Along with nearly 80 million voters nationwide, about 3.2 million voters in Hai Phong will cast their ballots today, March 15, to elect deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to the People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term.

Polling stations across Hai Phong have been carefully prepared and are ready for Election Day.

This morning (March 15), 113 communes, wards, and special zones of Hai Phong City held the opening ceremonies and voting for deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to the People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term. Earlier, on March 14, the Bach Long Vi Special Zone conducted early voting.

In Hai Phong, there are 33 candidates for deputies to the 16th National Assembly, from which 19 deputies will be elected. A total of 139 candidates are running for the 17th Hai Phong City People’s Council, with 85 seats to be filled. Meanwhile, 4,952 candidates are running for People’s Councils of the 113 communes, wards, and special zones for the 2026–2031 term, with 2,375 deputies to be elected (the Bach Long Vi Special Zone does not organize a People’s Council).

For the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to the People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, Hai Phong City has a total of 2,577 polling stations, including 2,537 stations located in villages and residential quarters, and 40 separate polling stations.

By the afternoon of March 14, all voters in the Bach Long Vi Special Zone had completed their voting.

Among the 2,537 polling stations organized by villages and residential quarters, 2,144 stations have between 300 and 2,000 voters, 387 stations have between 2,000 and 4,000 voters, and 6 polling stations are located in sparsely populated areas in the communes and wards of Vinh Bao, Vinh Am, Vinh Hoa, Nhi Chieu, and the Cat Hai special zone. In addition, 325 polling stations are shared by local residents and the people’s armed forces.

There are 40 separate polling stations across the city, distributed in 27 communes and wards. Of these, 37 are dedicated to the people’s armed forces, while 3 are separate polling stations located in facilities such as hospitals, maternity homes, nursing homes, disability care centers, elderly care centers with 50 or more voters, as well as compulsory education institutions, compulsory rehabilitation centers, and temporary detention facilities in Bach Dang Ward, Quyet Thang Commune, and Tran Hung Dao Ward.
