With strong determination, preparations for the elections of deputies to the 16th National Assembly of Vietnam and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term in Hai Phong have largely been completed. The city is now ready for election day.

At Polling Station No.13 in Thang Yen hamlet, preparations have been finalized. This is considered a special polling area in Lai Khe commune, where more than 90% of voters are Catholic residents.
The polling area has been neatly arranged with national flags, banners and posters. Biographies and action plans of the candidates are publicly posted.
The ballot boxes have been carefully inspected. The voting room layout has been organized scientifically to ensure a one-way flow, making it convenient for voters.
Nguyen Van Hung, head of Polling Station No.13, said the team had carefully reviewed the list of more than 1,200 voters and delivered voter cards to each household.
Information on voting time and location has also been disseminated through the village loudspeaker system and Zalo groups so residents clearly understand the schedule and procedures.
In An Lao commune, which has a population of more than 47,000, election preparations have been implemented methodically and on schedule.
The commune has distributed more than 33,500 voter cards. Polling areas have been fully prepared, while major roads and village cultural houses have been decorated with flags and flowers.
The local broadcasting system has continuously updated residents on voters’ rights and obligations as well as the list of candidates.

An Thanh commune has established 10 polling stations, all located at village cultural houses for the convenience of voters.
In recent days, local forces have worked overtime to ensure progress. Preparations have now been completed.
Election committees at all levels have completed the compilation and public posting of voter lists in accordance with regulations.
More than 3.2 million voter cards have been handed to residents.
One notable feature of this election is the expanded use of information technology. For the first time, the city’s Election Committee has deployed software to manage candidate records for National Assembly and People’s Council elections, following guidance from the National Election Council of Vietnam.

The digitalization of data helps improve accuracy and transparency while shortening the time required to compile and report election information.
The Department of Science and Technology is coordinating with Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) to guide local authorities in connecting specialized communication lines.
Meanwhile, the city’s police are responsible for ensuring information security for computer systems operating on the specialized network used by agencies and units involved in the election.
Communication and public information campaigns have also been strengthened through the press, official web portals, social media platforms and local broadcasting systems.
According to Do Huy Chinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs and Secretary of the city’s Election Committee, with strong determination, preparations for the election have largely been completed.
This provides an important foundation for Hai Phong to elect representatives who reflect the will and aspirations of the people.
