With only a few days remaining before the elections, localities across the city are intensifying efforts to mobilize voters to participate in the elections

Addressing voters’ concerns

Residents of Kien Bai 1 residential area in Thien Huong Ward have welcomed upgrades to an irrigation road and canal, saying the improvements have made travel easier and improved drainage for local farming.

At a voter meeting in late 2025, local authorities responded to residents’ concerns by directing the Kien Bai Agricultural Services Cooperative to invest in a 130-metre irrigation road and dredge and upgrade a 450-metre canal section.

The move reflects efforts made by grassroots authorities to promptly address voters’ concerns. Residents say the swift response to their concerns has boosted confidence in local authorities ahead of the vote.

In Le Ich Moc Ward, authorities have also focused on addressing issues raised by residents while stepping up communication about the elections. The ward has upgraded its public loudspeaker system to deliver election information to residents more effectively.

Trinh Quang Truong, secretary of the ward Party Committee, said the ward has 17 polling areas due to its large population. Eight of them serve fewer than 2,000 voters each, while the remaining nine cover between 2,000 and 4,000 voters.

Through voter meetings, authorities have addressed residents’ concerns, particularly those related to the environment and street lighting, helping foster consensus ahead of the vote.

Election preparations gather pace

Alongside addressing voters’ concerns, authorities across the city are strengthening communication efforts to help residents better understand the significance of the elections and exercise their rights.

On Feb. 27, the Hai Phong Department of Propaganda and Mass Mobilization issued a directive launching a peak communication campaign on the elections for the National Assembly of Vietnam and People’s Councils at all levels.

Nguyen Quang Phuc, member of the Hai Phong Party Standing Committee and head of the department, called on departments, agencies, local authorities and media organizations to diversify communication channels to ensure election information reaches all sections of society.

Priority will be given to direct communication through briefings, Party cell meetings in March, and activities organized by socio-political organizations to deliver timely information to officials, Party members and residents.

Localities are also increasing the frequency of election broadcasts through grassroots public systems.

The elections for the 16th National Assembly of Vietnam and People’s Councils for the 2026–2031 term are expected to proceed smoothly and in line with the law.
