Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee Le Ngoc Chau hosted a reception for Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Vietnam Suren Baghdasaryan on October 15.

Chairman Le Ngoc Chau said that in April 2025, Secretary of the city Party Committee Le Tien Chau joined Vietnam’s high-ranking delegation, led by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, on an official visit to Armenia, where he met with senior Armenian leaders.

Over the past time, the city authorities and agencies, particularly the Vietnam–Armenia Friendship Association, have actively fostered ties and achieved some results in cultural and information exchange.

The chairman expressed his hope that the ambassador’s visit would not only strengthen the friendship between Armenia and Hai Phong but also pave the way for expanding cooperation in economy, trade, and investment, areas in which both sides have great potential for effective mutual development and exploitation.

Ambassador Suren Baghdasaryan agreed with Chairman Le Ngoc Chau’s assessment that there remains vast room for cooperation between the two sides.

He noted that Armenia serves as a gateway to the Eurasian Economic Union, which includes major markets such as Russia, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe, markets that Hai Phong enterprises could tap into. In the near future, both sides could cooperate in trade, investment, logistics, seaport development, and high technology.

The ambassador suggested that Hai Phong businesses explore cooperation with Armenia in exporting wine, agricultural products, dried fruits, and various other goods. Armenia, he emphasized, encourages closer business ties between the two sides. The Armenian Embassy in Vietnam stands ready to support and facilitate Hai Phong enterprises in seeking and promoting partnerships in the coming time.

Beyond economic cooperation, the ambassador also proposed expanding collaboration in culture and education, particularly among universities through student and lecturer exchanges in fields such as medicine and information technology, as well as through people-to-people exchange activities.

Following the meeting, the embassy will actively provide information and help connect Armenian investors with Hai Phong to explore investment opportunities, further deepening comprehensive cooperation between the two sides.
