Industrial parks and economic zones must have project bottlenecks removed and the quality of growth improved.

In the first half of 2026, Hai Phong’s GRDP is estimated to have risen 11.33%, ranking third nationwide. Within that performance, industrial parks and economic zones continued to provide a crucial economic backbone. The city currently has three economic zones covering a total of 47,840 hectares, one free trade zone and 48 industrial parks with a combined area of 13,829.82 hectares.
These results reaffirm Hai Phong’s investment appeal and provide a foundation for new growth drivers such as specialized economic zones, the South Coastal Economic Zone and the free trade zone.
The Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority is prioritizing efforts to expedite industrial park development through concrete measures: preparing progress-tracking plans for 26 industrial parks, coordinating with departments and localities to resolve land clearance and infrastructure issues, and accelerating secondary projects.
The city is implementing strategic infrastructure projects, including berths No. 7 to 10 at Lach Huyen port and preparing investment for the South Coastal Economic Zone, thereby creating additional development space for the next phase.
While the industrial economy continues to maintain positive momentum, Hai Phong’s objective goes beyond expanding revenue or project numbers. The priority is to raise value added per hectare of industrial land, promote supporting industries, strengthen linkages between FDI firms and domestic enterprises, and accelerate digital and green transformation by developing eco-industrial parks under a sustainable growth orientation.
Handling bottlenecks and continually improving development quality will be a momentum for Hai Phong city to achieve double-digit growth and progressively assert its role as the nation’s modern industrial and logistics hub.
