AEON Hai Duong in Hai Phong City is AEON Group’s 10th shopping center in Vietnam. Covering approximately 3.7 hectares, the project has a total investment of around VND 1.2 trillion.

AEON Vietnam Co., Ltd. held the opening ceremony of AEON Hai Duong Shopping Center in Thach Khoi Ward, Hai Phong City on October 3.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee Tran Van Quan emphasized that from AEON MALL Hai Phong Le Chan to AEON Hai Duong, AEON Group’s continued investment demonstrates its confidence in Hai Phong’s development potential and investment environment. The center’s operation adds a modern shopping, recreation and entertainment destination, contributing to the development of trade and services and creating more jobs for local residents.

Emphasizing the need to ensure the project operates effectively after its opening, the Vice Chairman called on AEON Vietnam to operate the center professionally, ensure the quality of goods and services, control product origins and food safety, and strictly comply with regulations on fire prevention and fighting and environmental protection.
He praised AEON’s focus on green building standards and community responsibility, and called on the company to maintain measures to save energy, reduce plastic waste, sort waste and care for green spaces, helping create a civilized, environmentally friendly shopping destination.
The Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee also called on AEON to strengthen cooperation with local businesses, cooperatives and suppliers, and support improvements in product quality so that Hai Phong products can meet standards and participate more deeply in the group’s domestic and international distribution networks. Building on the experience of cooperating to market Hai Duong lychees, he encouraged the company to expand connections involving other agricultural products, OCOP products and other goods for which the city has strengths.

The city pledged to continue improving its investment environment and supporting businesses. It also expressed its hope that AEON Group would explore further investment opportunities and that the Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam would continue helping connect Japanese businesses with opportunities to explore and establish long-term cooperation in Hai Phong.
Speaking at the ceremony, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki said he was delighted to witness the center’s opening after attending its groundbreaking ceremony in April last year. He also thanked the city’s authorities and residents for their attention and support for AEON Vietnam.
The Ambassador noted that the decision to open a shopping center in Thach Khoi, an area where industrial parks and residential areas are being developed, demonstrated AEON’s confidence in the locality’s potential. The project also meets the growing demand for shopping and services among local residents and workers.

Affirming that the Japanese Government would continue contributing to Vietnam’s development through public-private cooperation, the Ambassador expressed his hope that the Vietnamese Government and city authorities would continue listening to Japanese businesses and helping resolve their difficulties, thereby promoting effective investment and business activities that contribute to local development.
