The AI-powered “Dynamic Pricing” feature has been implemented across the railway system, allowing passengers to purchase tickets with discounts of up to 35%.

Vietnam Railways Corporation will operate an additional 47 train services during the holiday period. Starting from May 1, 2026, the corporation officially rolls out the AI-powered “Dynamic Pricing” feature across the entire railway system.
Under this system, passengers can enjoy discounts of up to 35% when purchasing tickets through official railway channels.
The mechanism allows the AI system to automatically analyze seat availability on each train. When a portion of seats or berths has already been sold for long-distance journeys, the system calculates and offers flexible discounted prices for remaining shorter segments, depending on the time of booking.
During a one-week pilot from April 22 to 29, 2026, the system sold 9,376 tickets, generating approximately VND 2 billion in revenue. Passengers collectively saved about VND 523 million.
Operational efficiency also improved significantly, with the seat occupancy rate reaching 79%—up 9% compared to the same period last year and 12% higher than the previous month. Discounted tickets accounted for more than 10% of total passengers on the trains.

To ensure transparency, discounted seats are highlighted in light blue on the carriage layout, along with detailed information on ticket prices and the level of discount.
Passengers can enjoy discounts ranging from 15% to 35% when purchasing tickets through channels such as dsvn.vn, vetau.com.vn, e-wallet applications, and mobile ticketing apps. The implementation of dynamic pricing is expected to improve operational efficiency while delivering tangible benefits to passengers.
During the April 30 and May 1 holiday, the railway sector will operate 182 North–South and regional trains with nearly 90,000 seats, while adding 47 extra services providing more than 22,000 additional seats on key routes.
