Hateco Haiphong International Container Terminal (HHIT) has received and put into operation eight modern handling equipment units, including two STS gantry cranes with a reach of 24 container rows, capable of handling the world’s largest container vessels, and six electric e-RTG cranes manufactured by ZPMC, a Chinese port equipment corporation.

This marks an important milestone in the terminal’s strategy to expand operational scale and enhance its capacity to receive large-tonnage vessels.

The commissioning of modern equipment helps the terminal improve handling productivity, shorten vessel clearance time, reduce emissions, optimize yard capacity, and attract more international service routes.

This year, HHIT has put into operation a total of seven STS and 20 e-RTG cranes, ensuring progress and commitments made with shipping lines, moving toward a smart and green port model.

HHIT is a smart terminal with an automated gate system and semi-automated berths, fully capable of accommodating the world’s largest vessels and operating service routes connecting Hai Phong with ports on the US’s East and West Coasts, as well as Europe and India.
