Hai Phong's West – East train service carries attract passengers

The HP15/HP16 train pair, which runs Monday through Friday, has become a popular choice for daily travel between the eastern and western regions of Hai Phong. During the first six months of 2026 the branch sold 3,272 monthly tickets, averaging more than 500 monthly tickets, a 15% increase since the fare was reduced from VND 1.5 million to VND 800,000 per person per month in early November 2025.

After nearly a year in operation, the train pair has helped meet demand for safe, convenient travel, eased pressure on road traffic, and improved connectivity for workers, trade and socio-economic activities across the city.

The railway sector continues to offer discounted fares for monthly-tickets. Train HP15 departs Hai Duong station at 6:20 a.m., arrives at Thuong Ly station at 7:04 a.m. and reaches Hai Phong station at 7:17 a.m., convenient for officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers. On the return run, HP16 leaves Hai Phong station at 5:30 p.m., arrives at Thuong Ly at 5:40 p.m. and reaches Hai Duong at 6:35 p.m., serving daily travel needs.
