Voters across Vietnam will head to the polls on March 15 to elect deputies to the 16th National Assembly of Vietnam and members of People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term.

In the northern port city of Hai Phong, authorities are stepping up preparations to ensure the vote is conducted smoothly and in accordance with the law, while creating the most convenient conditions for voters to exercise their rights and duties.
At remote polling locations such as Bach Long Vi Island and Viet Hai Island, facilities for election day have largely been completed, ensuring convenient access for voters.
Across many localities in the city, polling stations have been reviewed and rearranged to ensure compliance with regulations while making the voting process more convenient for voters. Voting areas are being organized under a standard layout, including desks for checking voter cards, ballot distribution areas, voting booths and ballot boxes.
Officials say the standardized layout not only improves the professionalism of election organization but also helps ensure transparency and order throughout the voting process.
Local authorities have also been instructed to prepare drinking water, seating and other basic amenities at polling stations to better serve voters. In areas with large numbers of voters, temporary shelters or tents have been prepared in case of adverse weather.
Though seemingly minor, such preparations are significant as voting is a fundamental right of citizens and easier access to polling stations reflects respect for the public participation in elections.
Technical infrastructure and communication systems at polling stations have also been reviewed to ensure smooth operation during the election. Security plans have been put in place, with relevant forces ready to coordinate in ensuring safety throughout election day.
