In a solemn and respectful atmosphere at the city Fallen Heroes Memorial, the delegates observed a moment of silence to honor those who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the noble communist ideals, and for the happiness of the people, including tens of thousands of the city’s outstanding residents.
Before the spirits of the fallen heroes, the delegates vowed to continue the path of their predecessors, overcome all difficulties, strive to fulfill their assigned political tasks, and contribute to building Hai Phong into a stronger, more prosperous, and civilized city.
Afterwards, at the grounds of the Vietnam – Czech Friendship Labor Culture Palace, Standing Members of the city Party Committee and delegates offered incense in deep respect and gratitude to Nguyen Duc Canh, one of the founders of the Communist Party of Vietnam, former Secretary of the Northern Regional Party Committee, former Chairman of the Tonkin Red Federation of Trade Unions (the predecessor of today’s Vietnam Trade Unions), and the first Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee.
Following the example of Nguyen Duc Canh, the Party organization, authorities, and people of Hai Phong are determined to uphold wisdom, solidarity, unity, and the heroic traditions of the city, striving to build Hai Phong into a modern industrial and civilized port city and an important driving force for the nation’s development.
