Hai Phong has 265 ha of VietGAP-certified aquaculture

According to the Fisheries, Livestock and Veterinary Medicine Sub-Department under the Hai Phong Department of Agriculture and Environment, the city has 265 ha of aquaculture operated by 741 households in concentrated production areas that have been certified as meeting VietGAP standards.

The aquaculture facilities and households meeting VietGAP standards have applied advanced techniques and high technology in production to improve economic efficiency, control pollution and meet food safety requirements.

In the coming period, the Fisheries, Livestock and Veterinary Medicine Sub-Department will continue reviewing and assessing concentrated aquaculture areas across the city to propose support for the development of VietGAP-certified aquaculture.

Hai Phong currently has about 24,000 ha of aquaculture. The city aims to maintain a stable aquaculture area during the 2026 – 2030 period, focusing on improving quality and ensuring an average annual growth rate of 5.52%.
