In May 2026, both fisheries and aquaculture output in Hai Phong rose compared with the same month in 2025.

The city’s latest statistics show that in May local farms and aquaculture operators continued renovating and cleaning to prepare for new stocking cycles.
Aquaculture production in May is estimated at 15,584 tonnes, up 6.6% year‑on‑year. Fish output reached 14,561 tonnes, an increase of 6.8%; shrimp production was 649 tonnes, up 4.1%; and other seafood totaled 374 tonnes, up 4.4%.
Marine capture-fisheries in the city proceeded smoothly. Weather was generally stable and fishing grounds were favorable, enabling fishermen to go farther offshore, remain stable catch-volumes and incomes for workers.
Capture production in May is estimated at 10,977 tonnes, a rise of 2.7% from May 2025. That includes 6,942 tonnes of fish, up 1.5%; 785.6 tonnes of shrimp, up 8.4%; and 3,250.3 tonnes of other seafood, up 3.9%. Cumulative capture production for the first five months of 2026 is estimated at 50,406 tonnes, an increase of 2.16% year‑on‑year.
