Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practices will be applied to traditional growing regions that bring high economic value to farmers in Chi Linh city.
Chi Linh city will apply VietGAP to 20 ha of custard-apples in Hoang Tien and Ben Tam wards
Chi Linh city will apply Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practices (VietGAP) to five more cultivation regions this year, according to the city Economic Division.
The regions cover a total area of more than 51 ha, including 8.8 ha of vegetables in Tan Dan ward, nearly 22.9 ha of lychees in Ben Tam ward and Bac An commune, and 20 ha of custard-apples in Hoang Tien and Ben Tam wards.
These are all traditional growing regions that bring high economic value to farmers.
The city will maintain 30 ha of lychees and longans grown under Global Good Agricultural Practices (GlobalGAP) and more than 50 ha under VietGAP.
The city Economic Division has coordinated with the Sub-department of Cultivation and Plant Protection to provide technical training for lychee and longan growers and some typical households selling plant protection products in the locality to ensure the quality of the regions.
