Hai Phong’s aquaculture output in 2025 has reached 201,895 tons, up 6.3% year on year.

According to the Sub-department of Fisheries, Livestock and Veterinary Services under the Hai Phong Department of Agriculture and Environment, aquaculture output across the city in 2025 has reached 201,895 tons, an increase of 6.3% compared with the same period last year.
Localities maintain 23,930.2 ha of aquaculture water surface area. Aquaculture activities remain stable and have recorded many positive results, with farmers focusing on key species such as black tiger shrimp, whiteleg shrimp, tilapia, grass carp, black carp, etc.
Notably, many intensive farming areas have applied modern technologies, while several new farming models have proven effective, including shrimp farming in covered facilities, recirculating aquaculture systems, and two- to three-stage farming models, delivering high economic efficiency.
The city has 15 offshore rafts for mollusk farming and 10,633 aquaculture cages, including 1,733 marine cages and 8,900 river ones.
During the farming process, the city Department of Agriculture and Environment coordinates with communes, wards and special zones to upgrade irrigation systems, monitor the farming environment, effectively prevent and control diseases, and support farmers with technical guidance, seed supply and the application of technology in production.
