Regional connectivity corridors are gradually taking shape and being completed, placing Hai Phong in an increasingly clear position within the transport network, thereby expanding economic development space.

Recently, Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, together with Vingroup and the People’s Committees of relevant provinces and cities, officially began construction of the Hanoi-Quang Ninh high-speed railway project. The railway, about 120 km long with a design speed of 350 km/h, will run through Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, and Quang Ninh. Once being come into operation in 2028, it will not only shorten travel time between major economic centers but also create a new, fast and modern connectivity corridor.
At the same time, accelerating the implementation of the Lao Cai-Hanoi-Hai Phong railway will add another strategic connectivity axis, linked to freight transport and international intermodal operations. With its endpoint at Lach Huyen Port, this railway will not only expand connectivity from border gates to deep-water seaports but also help form a continuous logistics corridor, enhancing Hai Phong’s transshipment capacity in the regional supply chain.
The simultaneous presence of Hai Phong in both of these important railway corridors: one serving high-speed passenger transport, the other serving large-scale freight transport shows the city’s increasingly clear position in the regional and national connectivity structure. This is not only an advantage of geography, but also the result of synchronized infrastructure investment, gradually laying the foundation for the goal of developing the city into a modern industrial and logistics center.
With the target of around 13% growth in 2026, strategic transport corridors, especially the railway system, will play an important role in creating new momentum. As connectivity expands, development space also opens up, enabling Hai Phong to make better use of its existing advantages and gradually affirm its position as the northern region’s modern industrial and logistics hub.
