K15 Wharf has long become a ‘red address’ for many visitors.

Do Son ward will study the establishment of a new K15 Wharf Management Board and proactively reach out to visitors through schools and mass organizations. K15 Wharf needs to be retold through historical stories in contemporary formats such as short clips, documentary films, artistic photos, digital maps, QR codes, and audio guides.

The ward will integrate learning about K15 Wharf’s cultural and historical value into history knowledge contests, return-to-roots journeys, extracurricular education programs in schools, and activities for recruiting trade union members, and party members. It will develop tourist routes connecting K15 with Do Son, Hang Pagoda, Tuong Long Tower, Dragon Hill, coastal villages, fish markets, local cuisine, and cultural life.

K15 Pier is the ‘km zero’ of the Ho Chi Minh sea trail, a strategic logistics line that became legendary during the resistance war against the United States.

From the Phuong Dong 1 voyage on the night of October 11, 1962, until the end of its historic mission, there were 88 ‘no-number’ ship voyages that departed the wharf, carrying nearly 5,000 tonnes of weapons and ammunition and thousands of tonnes of supplies to support the battlefields in the South.

Because of those special historical values, in 2008 K15 Wharf was classified as a national historical site. In 2024, the site was further recognized as a particularly important national relic within the Ho Chi Minh sea trail historical sites.

According to statistics from the Do Son ward Department of Culture and Society, K15 Wharf receives about 8,000 visitors each year from inside and outside the city.
