After more than a month under special monitoring, construction progress on five key transport projects in eastern Hai Phong has shown clear improvements.

Stepping up construction
In the final days of September 2026, construction activities at the five key transport projects in eastern Hai Phong were carried out at a brisk pace. In particular, at projects scheduled for completion, opening to traffic or tunnel operation before the 2027 Lunar New Year, construction has been accelerated. Contractors have mobilized additional workers, machinery and equipment, organized shifts appropriately, and worked to ensure construction progress and quality.
At the project to build Nguyen Trai Bridge and upgrade the surrounding urban area, including the construction of the Nguyen Trai – Le Hong Phong intersection, the removal of the site-clearance bottleneck has allowed the main construction packages to operate around the clock. Package No. 15, covering the construction of approach bridges, approach roads and the intersection, has recorded a construction value of VND 1.393 trillion out of the VND 1.435 trillion contract value, equivalent to 97%.
Package No. 14, covering the construction of the main cable-stayed bridge, has entered the stage of constructing key components. Its construction value has reached VND 1.119 trillion out of VND 2.367 trillion, or 47.3% of the contract value. Both packages are ahead of schedule.
Quickly resolving bottlenecks to accelerate progress

Of the five projects, three underpasses at the Nguyen Trai – Le Hong Phong, Bui Vien – Le Hong Phong and Bui Vien – Vo Nguyen Giap intersections, together with the Tan Vu – Hung Dao – Bui Vien section of Ring Road No. 2, are required to open to traffic before January 31, 2027, and be completed and put into operation before April 30, 2027.
The road connecting National Highway No. 5 with National Highway No. 10, including the Truong Chinh underpass, is scheduled to open to traffic before April 30, 2027, with the entire project to be completed in September 2027. Nguyen Trai Bridge is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic in September 2027.
For components and works scheduled for completion before the 2027 Lunar New Year, only about four months remain. This requires project owners and contractors to regularly review progress, determine the workload for each component and construction package, and develop detailed plans to ensure the committed deadlines.
