According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the average Tet bonus for 2026 reached VND 8.69 million per worker, up 13% year on year. The figure is based on Tet bonus plans covering more than 4.2 million workers nationwide.

At the Government’s regular press conference on February 4, Director General of the Wage and Social Insurance Department under the Ministry of Home Affairs Pham Truong Giang said Statistics from more than 50,000 enterprises covering Tet bonus plans for over 4.2 million employees show that the average Lunar New Year (Tet) bonus in 2026 stands at VND 8.69 million per person, up 13% year on year.
Among business sectors, state-owned enterprises offered an average bonus of VND 9.44 million per worker, up 23%; private domestic enterprises averaged VND 7.37 million, up 9%; and FDI enterprises averaged VND 9.21 million per worker, an year-on-year increase of 12%.
Regarding wages, the average monthly income of workers in 2025 reached VND 9.76 million, up 11% from 2024. A representative of the Ministry of Home Affairs affirmed that the early issuance of supportive regulations has helped improve workers’ incomes, stabilize livelihoods, and strengthen employee engagement. These measures have helped boost productivity and creating facilitate Vietnam to achieve double-digit economic growth in 2026.
