From beneficial collective agreements…
Many trade union officials at enterprises are negotiating for more favorable terms in wages, allowances, support for female workers, commuting subsidies, and Tet bonuses.
Nguyen Thi Lan Huong, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of An Phat Bioplastics JSC. in An Dong industrial cluster, Nam Sach commune, said her company’s collective labor agreement, signed in the second quarter, includes many advantageous policies and provisions that exceed legal requirements, such as a main meal allowance of 29,000 VND per person, an additional meal of 16,000 VND per person, and a one-hour reduction in daily working time for pregnant workers from the seventh month onward while maintaining full salary.
At Tongwei Electronics (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. in An Duong industrial park, trade union officials have proactively developed proposals for a 13th-month salary and bonuses for 2026 Tet to encourage workers to stay committed to the company.
High-quality collective labor agreements that bring significant benefits to workers have had a positive impact on Hai Phong’s labor market.
According to the Employment Service Center under the city Department of Home Affairs, the number of people applying for unemployment benefits in the first 10 months of 2025 decreased by about 24% compared to the same period last year. Workers’ income and employment in the city remained relatively stable.

Following negotiations, practical activities by grassroots and higher-level trade unions have been promptly implemented, helping to strengthen and ensure workers’ rights and welfare in Hai Phong.
Hyundai Kefico Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Dai An industrial park, Tu Minh ward, is a member of South Korea’s Hyundai Motor Group specializing in research, development, and production of high-tech electronic products and engine control units. The company has more than 2,500 employees.
According to Do Phuong Nhung, Vice Chairwoman of the company’s Trade Union, the union plays the role of a bridge between the company and workers, signing collective labor agreements with many favorable provisions for employees. The union also participates in developing cultural and sports facilities to support workers’ health, material well-being, and spiritual life.
Since its establishment, the company has not experienced any labor disputes or strikes. It is also the only FDI enterprise in western Hai Phong having a Party cell.
The enterprise’s Trade Union has proposed that the company grant a 13th-month salary, pay unused leave (300% of the daily wage), and provide special bonuses (equivalent to 100% of monthly income) in January 2026.
With the motto “Every union member and worker enjoys Tet,” the city Confederation of Labor is mobilizing resources and preparing plans to organize “Tet Reunion” programs; provide gifts and bus tickets for workers returning home for Tet; hold the “Union year-end meal”; and visit workers at enterprises and units, and in industrial parks and export processing zones with outstanding business results or large numbers of low-income and hardship-stricken workers in hazardous or dangerous occupations. These efforts reaffirm the core role of trade unions in caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.
