The cooperative relationship between Hai Phong City and Chinese localities has not only expanded in scale but is also increasingly improving in quality, effectiveness, and practicality.
In recent time, Hai Phong and Chinese localities have carried out coordinated, comprehensive cooperation across political‑diplomatic, economic‑diplomatic, and other fields.
Since 2025, the two sides have organized about 21 working delegations for mutual visits and exchanges. High‑level visits, as well as delegations from departments, agencies, localities, and people‑to‑people exchanges, have been organized actively and regularly. Besides, many important cooperation agreements have been signed between Hai Phong city and Guangxi, and between Hai Phong and Nanning city, as well as between agencies on both sides in the fields of culture, tourism, health, science and technology, education and training, construction, justice, and industry and trade.
Hai Phong currently maintains friendly and cooperative relations with many Chinese localities, including Tianjin, Nanning, Shenzhen, …. The city is also promoting cooperation with Yunnan province within the framework of the economic corridor and the new cooperation mechanism among five Vietnamese provinces and cities: Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang, Hai Phong and Guangxi (China). In particular, since February 2026 Hai Phong has officially become a member of this cooperation mechanism, opening up new and strategic cooperation spaces between the city and southern China.
In terms of economic diplomacy, China is currently one of Hai Phong’s most important partners. Hai Phong is also a destination for Chinese investors in key industrial parks such as An Duong and Do Son, where many Chinese enterprises operate effectively and make important contributions to the city’s socio‑economic development.
It can be affirmed that the cooperative relationship between Hai Phong and Chinese localities has not only expanded in scale but is also increasingly improving in quality, effectiveness, and practicality. This contributes to enhancing political trust, broadening opportunities for cooperative development, and consolidating the friendship between people in Hai Phong and those in Chinese localities.
