Many communes and wards in Hai Phong have invested in modern facilities and equipment, helping shorten processing time and improve the quality of services for residents.
Modern equipment, better services for residents
Established through the merger of Duong Quan and Thuy Duong wards and parts of Hoa Dong, An Lu and Thuy Ha wards, Thuy Nguyen Ward covers a large area and has a large population, resulting in high demand for administrative procedures from residents and businesses.
To ensure that applications are received and processed quickly and properly, the ward has invested in facilities, equipment and information technology infrastructure for its Public Administration Service Center since the first days of operation.
Le Thi Mai, Deputy Director of the Public Administration Service Center of Thuy Nguyen Ward, said the center is equipped with 12 computers, 12 printers, 12 scanners and 12 satisfaction-rating machines for residents and businesses, as well as an LED screen, surveillance cameras, air conditioning and a high-speed Internet connection.
In addition, the ward has installed two computers and three scanners in the support area, enabling residents to look up information and submit applications online themselves. The waiting area is equipped with tables and chairs, phone charging cables and a television for residents. The total investment in equipment was nearly VND 3 billion.
The comprehensive investment in equipment not only gives the center a more modern and spacious appearance but also supports application processing. Civil servants can work more conveniently, access data, scan and print documents, and digitize applications more quickly, while residents can look up information, submit applications online and track the progress of administrative procedures themselves.
Synchronous infrastructure and facilities
Immediately after the new administrative units began operating, the city directed that funding be secured to purchase equipment for Public Administration Service Centers, online meeting rooms and the work of officials and civil servants in communes, wards and special zones.
To date, 100% of communes, wards and special zones have invested in renovating, repairing and upgrading their Public Administration Service Centers and added machinery and equipment for receiving and processing administrative procedures.
The city has also invested more than VND 134 billion in purchasing equipment and installing videoconferencing systems in all 114 communes, wards and special zones, ensuring stable operations. Each unit is equipped with two dedicated data transmission lines for backup. In addition, the city has provided more than VND 490 billion to localities to renovate and upgrade their facilities.
According to Pham Thuy Duong, Deputy Director of the City Public Administration Service Center, investment in equipment, machinery and information technology infrastructure is an important condition for the centers to operate effectively. When equipment is appropriately arranged and connections are stable, civil servants can process applications more quickly, while residents can more conveniently look up information, submit applications and receive results.
