A Hai Phong delegation led by Nguyen Minh Hung, Member of the City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, paid a courtesy call on Foshan city leaders and visited and held working sessions with businesses operating in environmental services, solid waste treatment, manufacturing of robots, furniture, and building materials on October 22 as part of its working visit to Foshan, Guangdong Province, China.
At the reception, Liu Jie, Standing Vice Mayor of Foshan, welcomed the Hai Phong delegation and gave a general introduction to the city. Liu affirmed that Foshan attaches importance to and seeks to promote substantive, comprehensive cooperation with Hai Phong across various fields.
During the visit, the delegation toured the waste management and treatment and green energy models of Grandblue Environment JSC, which operates the Nanhai Environmental Project in Foshan. This is a leading Chinese enterprise in resource-recycling eco-industrial parks, integrating waste-to-energy generation, wastewater treatment, and closed-loop hazardous waste treatment.

During the site visit, Hai Phong city leaders held detailed discussions on the potential application of solid waste treatment technologies suited to Hai Phong's urban development planning and green industrial development.
As part of the visit, the Hai Phong delegation also attended activities during Guangdong Province's Intangible Cultural Heritage Week and the “Foshan Autumn Colors 2026” program.
Participation in these cultural activities not only gave the delegation deeper insights into Foshan's history, customs, and cultural identity but also helped strengthen people-to-people exchanges and foster greater understanding and closer ties between the two localities.
This is also an opportunity to expand cooperation in culture, tourism, and preservation and promotion of heritage values, complementing collaboration in economy, trade, investment, and environmental protection.
