Hai Phong has launched activities in response to World Cleanup Day 2026 under the theme ‘From clean plates to clean cities.’

The Environmental Protection Fund under the Hai Phong Department of Agriculture and Environment, in coordination with the Le Dai Hanh Ward People’s Committee, launched activities in response to World Cleanup Day on September 30.
The 2026 campaign is themed “From clean plates to clean cities.”
At the launch ceremony, a leader of the Department of Agriculture and Environment emphasized that the theme of World Cleanup Day 2026 conveys a message of taking action to manage food waste.
Food and organic waste accounts for a large proportion of total household solid waste. If not properly sorted, collected and treated, this waste will become a burden and have negative impacts on the living environment, especially in urban areas.

World Cleanup Day 2026 calls on everyone to change their habits, practice food-saving habits at the dining table, sort waste in the kitchen and effectively treat food waste. This will turn food waste into a resource for production. Such practices need to become a civilized way of life and be maintained regularly in every family and community to promote a green lifestyle.
On this occasion, the Le Dai Hanh Ward People’s Committee launched a model for “Collecting, sorting and processing organic waste into fertilizer at households” in Dong Lac residential quarter. Pacific Crystal Textile Co., Ltd. donated 250 composting bins to residential quarters and schools in the ward.
