According to the Customs Sub-Department of Region III, budget revenue in the first eight months of 2026 recorded positive growth as import-export activities in Hai Phong continued to maintain their growth momentum.
In the first eight months of 2026, the city's export turnover was estimated at USD42.2 billion, up about 14.6% year on year, while import turnover reached USD31.1 billion, up 18.56%.
In August alone, the sub-department processed nearly 262,820 customs declarations, up 3.6% from the previous month. The total import-export turnover of goods undergoing customs procedures hit USD14.5 billion, up 13.5% year on year. A total of 15,428 enterprises completed customs procedures, a rise of 3.8% year on year.
From now until the end of the year, the Customs Sub-Department of Region III will continue to take synchronous measures to facilitate trade, improve management efficiency and prevent revenue losses; accelerate modernization and implement centralized customs clearance. It will also strengthen inspection and supervision, and step up efforts to combat smuggling, trade fraud and the illegal transportation of goods across the border.
