In its eight years of official operation, Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal has recorded annual throughput of more than 1 million TEUs for five consecutive years.

Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal (TC-HICT) welcomed its 1 millionth TEU of 2026 on October 19.
The 1 millionth TEU was handled aboard the ARGUS, a vessel measuring 299.9 m in length. This also marks the fifth consecutive year that TC-HICT has handled more than 1 million TEUs. To date, 2024 remains the terminal’s record year, with throughput reaching 1.6 million TEUs.

Speaking at the ceremony marking the milestone, Lieutenant Colonel Doan Hai Tuan, Chairman of the Members’ Council of TC-HICT, emphasized that the achievement represents not only a throughput milestone but also confirms the terminal’s operational capacity and strong growth momentum.

In 2026, the terminal aims to handle 1.35 million TEUs. Amid challenges to port operations arising from fluctuations in international markets and competition among ports, TC-HICT will continue investing in operational capacity, promoting the application of technology, improving service quality and strengthening connectivity. These efforts aim to better serve customers and contribute positively to the development of the maritime and logistics sectors, as well as economic growth in Hai Phong and Vietnam as a whole.
