Construction begins on three interchanges worth over 2.235 trillion VND

The Hai Phong People’s Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for a project to build three interchanges: Nguyen Trai – Le Hong Phong, Le Hong Phong – Bui Vien, and Bui Vien – Vo Nguyen Giap on December 19 morning.

Le Ngoc Chau, Deputy Secretary of the city Party Committee and Chairman of the city People’s Committee, attended and delivered a directive speech at the ceremony.

This is one of 13 projects and works of Hai Phong that were commenced and inaugurated to celebrate the 79th anniversary of National Resistance Day and the 14th National Party Congress. It is also one of the two main connection points of Hai Phong linking directly with the national program of groundbreaking, inauguration and technical opening of projects and works organized by the Central authorities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the city People’s Committee Le Ngoc Chau emphasized that this was an event of profound political and social significance, contributing to fostering national pride, solidarity, self-reliance, resilience and the aspiration to rise among the Party, authorities and people of Hai Phong city.

To practically welcome the 14th National Party Congress, Hai Phong simultaneously commenced and inaugurated the 13 projects and works with a total investment of nearly 20 trillion VND, covering many important sectors.

Chairman Le Ngoc Chau affirmed that these projects were of great significance, contributing to improving infrastructure, expanding development space, creating jobs, promoting economic growth, ensuring social welfare and gradually improving the quality of life of the people.

To ensure project progress after commencement, Chau asked investors and contractors to concentrate maximum resources and accelerate construction progress. He stressed strict compliance with requirements on quality, engineering standards, aesthetics and absolute labor safety, while proactively arranging manpower, equipment, schedules and scientific construction solutions to minimize impacts on the environment and activities of residents and businesses.

The chairman required relevant departments, sectors and localities to continue close coordination and provide timely and effective support so that the investors and contractors could implement construction under the most favorable conditions.

The project to build the three interchanges has a total investment of 2.335 trillion VND. Of this amount, Le Hong Phong – Nguyen Trai interchange accounts for more than 852 billion VND, Bui Vien – Le Hong Phong interchange for more than 707 billion VND, and Bui Vien – Vo Nguyen Giap interchange for more than 775 billion VND.
