The average investment in industrial parks (IP) across Hai Phong city has reached 13 million USD per hectare. Notably, Trang Due IP recorded up to 45 million USD per hectare, ranking among the highest in Vietnam.
By the end of August, Hai Phong city had two economic zones covering a total of 42,540 ha and 43 IPs with a combined area of 12,119.82 ha, according to the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority.
In the eastern area, there are 23 IPs spanning 8,486 ha, focusing on high-tech industries and logistics linked to the seaport system. In the western area, 20 IPs cover 3,366 ha, oriented toward supporting industries and processing. Notably, 17 of these IPs are located within economic zones.
In terms of investment efficiency, the average investment in the IPs is 13 million USD/ ha, with Trang Due IP reaching 45 million USD/ ha, among the highest nationwide. This park also concentrates many large-scale projects, making significant contributions to the city’s industrial production value.
To further expand development space, in the coming period, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority will build 12 new IPs with a total area of about 3,012 ha. Alongside this, the city will focus on developing the Southern Coastal Economic Zone, specialized economic zones, and operating a free trade zone.
For the 2026 – 2030 period, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority aims to attract 20 – 25 billion USD in investment into its IPs and economic zones, averaging 5 – 6 billion USD annually. Of this, foreign direct investment is targeted at 4 – 5 billion USD/ year, and domestic capital at 1 – 2 billion USD/ year.
The development orientation for IPs and economic zones emphasizes high-tech, supporting, ecological, and smart industries.
