Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee Do Thanh Trung has asked JBIC to strengthen connections and support the city in attracting investment in high technology, semiconductors and clean energy.

Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Committee Do Thanh Trung received a delegation from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and Rorze Robotech Co., Ltd. of Japan's Rorze Corporation, led by Aguin Toru, Chief Advisor for Vietnam and ASEAN Regional Partnership and Chief Representative of the JBIC Ha Noi Office on the afternoon of October 7.
Expressing his appreciation for the warm welcome from Hai Phong leaders, Aguin Toru gave an overview of JBIC, a policy-based financial institution under the Japanese Government.
In Vietnam, as of March this year, JBIC had supported 372 projects with cumulative financing of JPY 954.5 billion, along with various cooperation and support activities for infrastructure development, energy and investment projects in Vietnam.

Nakamura Hideharu, Chairman of Rorze Robotech Co., Ltd., shared the investor's contributions over nearly 30 years of operations in Vietnam in general and Hai Phong in particular, focusing on the manufacture and assembly of motor control equipment, robots and products related to semiconductor manufacturing.
Welcoming the delegation, Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee Do Thanh Trung said the joint visit and working session between JBIC and Rorze Robotech was not only an opportunity for the parties to discuss specific investment projects, but also to explore broader cooperation in high-tech industrial development, supply chains, human resources and sustainable energy in the city.
Trung expressed his hope that JBIC would continue to play its role as an important financial and investment bridge between Japan and Vietnam, while supporting and introducing capable Japanese businesses with advanced technologies to explore investment opportunities in Hai Phong.

He also called for research into opportunities for cooperation and financing for projects in the city's priority areas, including high-tech industries, semiconductors, industrial park and economic zone infrastructure, clean energy, logistics, green transformation and sustainable development.
The Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee welcomed Rorze Robotech's plans to further expand investment in Hai Phong, particularly in high-tech industries, semiconductors and related supporting industries. Hai Phong pledged to continue significantly improving its business and investment environment, accelerating administrative reform and standing alongside businesses. The city will promptly address difficulties and obstacles and create favorable conditions for investors in general and Japanese enterprises in particular to implement projects smoothly and operate effectively and over the long term in Hai Phong.
