The 2025 Japanese Film Festival in Hai Phong offers the public an opportunity to enjoy outstanding Japanese cinematic works.

The Hai Phong Department of Foreign Affairs and the Japanese Cultural Exchange Center in Vietnam co-organized a cultural exchange program and the 2025 Japanese Film Festival in the city on December 26 evening.

Attending the program were Tran Thi Quynh Trang, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs; Yoshioka Norihiko, Director of the Japanese Cultural Exchange Center in Vietnam; along with representatives of agencies and units and a large number of culture and cinema lovers.

This year marks the 17th time the Japanese Film Festival has been held in Vietnam and the fifth time the program has come to audiences in Hai Phong, with the number of interested and supportive viewers increasing year by year.

This year’s festival introduces nine films with Vietnamese–English bilingual subtitles, including Love Letter, Petals and Memories, Sunset Sunrise, Seven Samurai, Ghost in the Shell, The Imaginary (animation), Angry Squad, Cells at Work, and Six Lying University Students.
These films will offer Hai Phong audiences a diverse cinematic experience, ranging from classic masterpieces to contemporary works rich in creativity, with varied emotions and multiple artistic perspectives.

The continued organization of the Japanese Film Festival over many years also affirms Hai Phong’s commitment to cultural and people-to-people exchange activities. The event not only enriches the spiritual life of local residents but also strengthens bonds, trust and friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and Japan.
