Hai Phong has strengthened coordination with FDI businesses, provided guidance on tax policies and promptly addressed their difficulties and obstacles.

The Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority and the City Tax Office co-organized a conference on September 15 to disseminate legal knowledge and address tax-related difficulties and obstacles faced by foreign-invested enterprises (FDI).
Speaking at the conference, Pham Van Thep, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Head of the Economic Zone Authority, affirmed that the city always attaches importance to the role of the FDI sector and works alongside investors throughout the implementation of their projects and production and business operations.

The quality of governance, transparency and the spirit of public service among State agencies are important factors in creating a favorable investment environment and strengthening businesses’ confidence, Thep said.
He asked businesses to proactively update themselves on and properly comply with tax regulations and promptly report difficulties and obstacles to tax agencies and the Economic Zone Authority. The city’s Tax Office and Economic Zone Authority will continue coordinating to provide guidance and support and promptly respond to recommendations, particularly issues that are new, complex or of concern to many enterprises. Foreign business associations should promote their role as a bridge, compile recommendations and convey policy information to businesses, Thep noted.

The Economic Zone Authority will continue coordinating with the Tax Office and relevant agencies to support FDI enterprises, creating conditions for them to operate stably, expand investment, and develop in a green, modern and sustainable direction, contributing to the city’s development goals.
During the dialogue session, leaders and professional divisions of the Tax Office directly discussed, provided guidance on and answered businesses’ difficulties and obstacles in observing tax policies and laws.
