For the 2026 Lunar New Year, Vietnam Airlines will continue to add flights on several major domestic routes from Tan Son Nhat Airport.

To meet the sharp increase in travel demand during the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday, Vietnam’s National Airline (Vietnam Airlines) will continue to increase flight frequencies on many key domestic routes departing from Tan Son Nhat Airport.

Accordingly, Vietnam Airlines is offering an additional 60,000 seats through nearly 300 flights, concentrated during the peak period from February 9 to March 3, 2026 (or December 22, 2025 to January 15, 2026 according to Lunar calendar), to serve passengers’ travel, family visits, and spring trips nationwide.

The routes with increased capacity in this phase mainly depart from Ho Chi Minh City to provinces and cities including Hanoi, Vinh, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Da Nang, Hue, Chu Lai, Buon Ma Thuot, Pleiku, Tuy Hoa, Quy Nhon, and Phu Quoc.

In addition, Vietnam Airlines is also offering four additional routes departing from Hai Phong, namely Hai Phong–Nha Trang, Can Tho, Buon Ma Thuot, and Phu Quoc, helping to meet diverse travel needs while easing pressure on major routes during the Lunar New Year peak period.

During the peak travel season, Vietnam Airlines recommends that passengers proactively plan their trips and book tickets early via the Vietnam Airlines website, mobile application, or the airline’s official ticket offices and authorized agents. Passengers are also encouraged to check in online within 24 hours prior to departure via the website, mobile app, VNeID, the call center, or self-service check-in kiosks at airports.

In particular, passengers are encouraged to use biometric technology during the check-in process to shorten waiting times. Those who have completed online or biometric check-in and are not carrying checked baggage may proceed directly to the security screening area, helping to ease congestion at airports during peak hours.
