During the 2026 New Year holiday, Cat Bi International Airport served more than 25,000 passengers, up over 4,000, or more than 20 percent, year-on-year. International arrivals reached 3,459 passengers, doubling year-on-year, while the number of domestic passengers totaled 22,026, an increase of over 13 percent.
The sharp rise in international arrivals reflected higher flight frequencies on international routes to meet growing travel demand during the holiday. Travel demand among foreign visitors, experts and overseas workers increased sharply, driven by tourism and family visits during the year-end and New Year period.
Streamlined international travel procedures, combined with enhanced operational capacity and improved service quality at the airport, helped ensure safe, smooth and efficient operations throughout peak travel days. These conditions enabled airlines to scale up flight services, contributing directly to the strong growth in the number of international passengers.
Meanwhile, cargo throughput at Cat Bi Airport also recorded year-on-year growth of 15–20 percent.
