Accelerating execution tempo

The project has a total length of 13.07 km, including Van Bridge which is nearly 900 m long and 12 m wide. The bridge is being built with prestressed reinforced concrete and has a design life of 100 years. The project’s total investment is nearly VND 1,300 billion from the former Hai Duong provincial budget, of which the Van Bridge component accounts for more than VND 414 billion. Under the investment decision, the work must be completed before September 2026.

The contractor for Van Bridge is LICOGI 18 Joint Stock Construction Investment Company. Construction began in January 2025. Despite facing various difficulties and obstacles, the contractor has mobilized hundreds of engineers and workers plus heavy machinery, working simultaneously to meet the schedule.

Expanding development space

The investment project to build the road and Van Bridge will link National Highway 37 with the approach road to Trieu Bridge to complete the planned transport network and form a connection axis that previously joined Kinh Mon and Chi Linh. The route will also link National Highway 37 with provincial roads 389 and 389B and with planned routes such as the Ring Road 5 around the capital region and the North–South axis of the former Hai Duong province.

Once finished, the project will help connect northern and northwestern wards and communes of Hai Phong city with Bac Ninh and Quang Ninh, facilitating trade, attracting investment, and promoting the area’s socio-economic development. With substantial progress on-site, concentrated personnel and equipment, and coordination from local authorities on site clearance, Van Bridge is gradually taking shape. The work is expected to open soon, meeting residents’ travel needs, strengthening transport links and driving regional development in the future.
