City leaders inspect preparations for inauguration and groundbreaking of key projects

In celebration of major public holidays in April and May and the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival, the city is set to commence and inaugurate 14 key projects.

On May 13, Vu Tien Phung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee, inspected preparations for the inauguration ceremony of the Hai Duong Social Care and Protection Center in Nam Sach and Thai Tan communes.

This is one of 14 key projects scheduled for inauguration and groundbreaking during the city’s major celebrations in April, May, and the 2026 Hai Phong Red Flamboyant Festival.

Following the on-site inspection, Vice Chairman Vu Tien Phung emphasized that the Hai Duong Social Care and Protection Center is equipped with modern and synchronized infrastructure. He urged the center to proactively review and coordinate with contractors to adjust facilities for operational suitability, including adding safety measures such as emergency exits. Once operational, the center should also focus on vocational training for people with disabilities.

The project has a total investment of more than 379.3 billion VND sourced from the city budget, classified as a group B, level-III civil works project, implemented during 2021–2026. It is one of the city’s large-scale, comprehensive and multifunctional social welfare facilities, aimed at providing care, rehabilitation and long-term support for vulnerable groups.

Also on the morning of May 13, Vice Chairman Nguyen Minh Hung inspected preparations for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Nam Trang Cat Industrial Park project, and the Cat Bi Victory Monument project at Cat Bi International Airport in Hai An Ward.

The Vice Chairman stressed that both projects play an important role in the city’s socio-economic development and will create a striking impression for visitors arriving in Hai Phong via Cat Bi International Airport, the city’s gateway.

The Cat Bi Victory Monument Park is designed as a distinctive and impressive sculpture artwork, serving as a symbolic introduction to Hai Phong as a dynamic, globally integrated and sustainably developing port city.

The Nam Trang Cat Industrial Park infrastructure development project covers 200.3 hectares with a total investment of more than 2.252 trillion VND. It is a new, modern industrial park with synchronized technical infrastructure, designed to attract multi-sector investment, prioritizing modern and environmentally friendly technologies, contributing to industrial development, job creation and broader socio-economic growth.
