Hai Duong Medical Technical University on November 18 morning celebrated the Vietnamese Teachers' Day and inaugurated a statue of Greatly Reputable Physician Tue Tinh.

Greatly reputable Physician Tue Tinh is considered as the saint of Vietnamese medicine, the initiator and founder of the foundation of the country's medicine with an independent, self-controlled, and practical viewpoint of "Vietnamese herbal medicine treats Vietnamese people’s diseases” (Nam Dược Trị Nam Nhân), meaning that Vietnamese medicine is used to treat diseases for Vietnamese people.
Hai Duong Medical Technical University organized the construction of the statue of Great Famous Physician Tue Tinh to memorize his merits. The statue, made of monolithic red granite with a height of 3.4 meters and a weight of 11 tons, is situated in the university's campus.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, appreciated the construction of the statue of Great Famous Physician Tue Tinh. This is a very meaningful deed to educate generations of medical officers, civil servants, and students in the traditions of "Tôn Sư Trọng Đạo" (honouring teachers and respecting morality – a principle) and "Uống Nước Nhớ Nguồn" (Be grateful to one’s Benefator.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and praised the efforts, dynamism, and creativity of the collective of leaders, lecturers, civil servants, and students of Hai Duong Medical Technical University.
He suggested that the university well perform the campaign titled "Every teacher is a moral example of self-learning and self-creation" and the emulation movement of "Good teaching and learning" in the educational sector; strengthen the management of teaching and learning, focus on directing the innovation of inspection and assessment with a learner-centerlised viewpoint to bring into full play students' proactiveness, activeness, and creativity; develop a teamwork of lecturers devoted to their profession and suitable to trained specialities, deserving to be "the people's doctors", well realizing the campaign of "Democracy - Discipline - Affection - Responsibility", etc.
