The Minister of Industry and Trade has signed Decision No. 1065 dated May 6, 2026, officially recognizing Vietnam Logistics Day and Vietnam Logistics Week.

Accordingly, May 6 each year has been designated as Vietnam Logistics Day, while Vietnam Logistics Week will be held annually during the first week of May.

The decision was issued based on government regulations concerning the functions and duties of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, regulations on press communication and information provision, decentralization in the fields of culture, sports, and tourism, as well as Decision No. 2229 dated October 9, 2025 of the Prime Minister approving the Vietnam Logistics Services Development Strategy for the 2025–2035 period, with a vision toward 2050.

The decision also states that the organization of Vietnam Logistics Day and Vietnam Logistics Week aims to raise awareness among authorities, sectors, and society about the important role of logistics services in socio-economic development, international integration, and enhancing national competitiveness. At the same time, these activities are intended to promote the effective implementation of policies and laws related to logistics development, with a focus on digital transformation, green logistics, and sustainable development.

In addition, the decision aims to strengthen international cooperation, trade promotion, and investment attraction in logistics infrastructure and technology, while enhancing connectivity between Vietnam’s logistics sector and regional and global markets, and promoting Vietnam as a dynamic and efficient logistics service hub. The organization of Vietnam Logistics Day and Vietnam Logistics Week also seeks to honor, encourage, and recognize enterprises and workers in the logistics industry for their contributions to national development.

Regarding implementation, the Agency of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Industry and Trade has been assigned to take the lead, in coordination with relevant ministries, sectors, localities, the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA), the Vietnam Logistics Human Resources Development Association (VALOMA), as well as logistics associations and enterprises, in organizing commemorative activities in line with their functions, objectives, and operational conditions.
