The Hai Phong Department of Agriculture and Environment is promoting and connecting suppliers to boost the consumption of agricultural and seafood products.

On July 10, Hai Phong Department of Agriculture and Environment held a conference to introduce and connect agricultural and food products consumption between Sun Group Joint Stock Company and enterprises, production facilities and food suppliers in the city’s agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors.

At the event, representatives of the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection and the Department of Rural Development, among others provided information on the potential and strengths of local agricultural and seafood products, as well as inspection and certification work related to food safety.
Hai Phong has favorable natural conditions and large-scale concentrated farming areas, making it one of the key agricultural production centers in the Red River Delta. Each year, the city produces about 1 million tons of paddy rice, 1.2 million tons of vegetables and 450,000 tons of fruit trees. Many products have been developed into concentrated raw-material zones and produced under VietGAP, GlobalGAP and organic standards, with growing-area codes, geographical indications and collective trademarks, meeting the requirements of both domestic and export markets.
Appreciating Hai Phong’s agricultural production potential and the quality of its agricultural and seafood products, a Sun Group representative said the company needs clean, high-quality raw materials that ensure food safety for use and supply at its projects and resorts. The group expressed confidence in cooperation prospects, aiming to strengthen linkages, expand product distribution channels and promote the development of high-tech and organic agriculture in Hai Phong.

As part of the program, 24 enterprises introduced their distinctive products and discussed future cooperation in agricultural and seafood consumption, as well as supplier connection opportunities.
