Mr. Le Luong Thinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, delivers
remarks at the workshop.

The Department of Science and Technology, in coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Environment, recently organized a scientific workshop and technology supply–demand connection event themed “Digital Agriculture: Optimizing IoT, Ensuring Traceability Transparency” in Hai Phong.

The workshop attracted the participation of representatives from management agencies, experts, scientists, technology enterprises, and local cooperatives.

At the event, experts and businesses introduced a range of technological solutions, including IoT infrastructure for real-time production monitoring, electronic farming logs, and applications of big data and artificial intelligence for forecasting pests and weather. Other solutions focused on bio-organic fertilizers, product traceability, and the development of e-commerce platforms for agricultural products.

Many digital technology solutions in agriculture are showcased at the workshop.

Participants also focused on discussing mechanisms and policies to promote technology transfer, while highlighting challenges faced by enterprises, cooperatives, and producers in accessing and applying these technologies in practice.

Within the program, a technology exhibition space and one-on-one supply–demand matching activities were held between solution providers and businesses or cooperatives, creating opportunities for direct exchange and selection of suitable solutions.

Amid the rapid development of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, digital agriculture is becoming an inevitable trend, contributing to improved productivity, quality, and sustainable development.

For Hai Phong—a major industrial and port hub ranked fourth nationwide in the Provincial Innovation Index (PII)—mastering digital technologies in agriculture is an urgent requirement. This will help optimize value chains, enhance management capacity and production efficiency, while building and protecting local agricultural brands and improving competitiveness. The workshop also contributes to promoting Hai Phong’s agriculture toward greater transparency and modernization.
