The 17th National Radio Festival – Quang Ninh 2026 will be held under the theme “Radio for a Strong and Prosperous Vietnam.”

The 17th National Radio Festival – Quang Ninh 2026, under the theme “Radio for a Strong and Prosperous Vietnam,” is organized by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) in coordination with the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, and will be held from April 11 to 13 in Quang Ninh.
The National Radio Festival is the largest professional event of Vietnam’s radio broadcasting sector, held every two years to honor outstanding radio works. It also serves as a forum for radio professionals across the country to meet, exchange experiences, and promote innovation in the context of the strong digital transformation of journalism.
This year’s festival attracts the participation of all 34 provincial and municipal press and radio–television agencies nationwide, units under the Voice of Vietnam (VOV), the Military Radio and Television Center, the People’s Public Security Communications Department, along with many press agencies and media organizations developing audio content on digital platforms.
The entries submitted to the festival represent a variety of distinctive radio journalism genres, including live radio programs; features and investigative reports; specialized radio programs; ethnic-language radio programs. Notably, podcast—a rapidly growing form of digital audio content—will officially be included as a competition category this year.
The festival will also present awards in several categories, including Golden Voice for outstanding announcers, hosts, and live broadcast production teams; Outstanding Podcast Host; Outstanding Technician, and others.
One of the highlights of the 17th National Radio Festival – Quang Ninh 2026 is the increasingly prominent presence of podcast productions, reflecting a new development trend in audio journalism in the era of multi-platform media.
Amid strong competition from cross-border digital platforms and the rapidly changing information consumption habits of audiences, developing digital content formats such as podcasts is not only a trend but also a necessity. It enables radio broadcasting to expand its reach, attract new audiences, and reaffirm its position within the modern media ecosystem.
Within the framework of the festival, an international seminar titled “Podcast – A Creative Avenue for Radio in the Digital Era” will bring together journalists, media experts, and audio content producers from Vietnam and abroad to share experiences, trends, and development models for podcasting both domestically and internationally.
According to Mr. Pham Manh Hung, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, Vice President of Voice of Vietnam, and Chairman of the VOV Journalists Association, the development of technology and digital platforms is opening new creative spaces for audio journalism. Podcasts are becoming a key highlight of the 17th National Radio Festival – Quang Ninh 2026.
“We expect this festival not only to honor outstanding radio works but also to promote the development of podcasts and new audio content formats, helping Vietnamese radio reach closer to modern audiences,” he said.
Vietnam Television (VTV) also aims to become the largest podcast producer in Vietnam, leading in scale, social influence, and professionalism.
The 17th National Radio Festival – Quang Ninh 2026 is not only a gathering of outstanding works but is also expected to become an important milestone, opening a new stage of development for Vietnamese radio in the era of comprehensive digital transformation.
