Ministry of Industry and Trade announces schedule for fuel price adjustment

The Department of Domestic Market Management and Development (under the Ministry of Industry and Trade) has just issued a document on fuel price adjustment for the upcoming April 30 – May 1 holiday period.

The Department of Domestic Market Management and Development has issued Document No. 1240/TTTN‑XD dated April 28, 2026, addressed to local Departments of Industry and Trade, leading fuel traders, and petroleum businesses the time of fuel price management for the upcoming April 30 – May 1 holiday period.

Specifically, this week’s fuel price‑adjustment period will not follow the usual schedule on Thursday but will be moved forward by one day, as it coincides with April 30 – May 1 holidays.

In this way, fuel prices will be adjusted before the long holiday period begins. Earlier, leading fuel traders and distributors had already notified retail stations of the adjustment schedule for this week and requested them to update their systems in order to apply the new price levels immediately after the adjustment takes effect.

Last week, fuel prices were adjusted downward twice by the joint Ministry of Industry and Trade – Ministry of Finance mechanism, on April 21 and April 23. The total two‑day reduction for gasoline ranged from 760–880 dong per liter, while the total cut for diesel prices reached up to 4,344 dong per liter. Compared with diesel’s peak price of 44,788 dong per liter on April 3, prices have now fallen by more than 18,000 dong, to about 26,700 dong per liter. Meanwhile, RON95 gasoline prices have also plunged by 10,960 dong per liter from peak of 33,840 dong per liter.
