For 11 consecutive years, Hai Phong City has maintained double-digit GRDP growth

At the press conference on announcing the fourth quarter and full-year 2025 socio-economic data, held on January 5, the General Statistics Office released the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) growth figures for 34 provinces and cities.

Latest estimates show local GRDP growth rates across provinces varying from 5.84% to 11.89%. Notably, stable growth between 7.0% and 10% dominated, with 23 out of 34 localities achieving this range.

Six provinces achieved breakout growth above 10%: Quang Ninh at 11.89% and Haiphong at 11.81%, leading thanks to strong FDI absorption and industrial-service complex booms. Ninh Binh followed at 10.5%, Phu Tho at 10.52%, Bac Ninh at 10.27%, and Quang Ngai at 10.02%.

Five provinces, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Haiphong, Dong Nai, and Bac Ninh, spearheaded Vietnam's 2025 GDP growth, collectively accounting for 55.4% of the national increase.

The Red River Delta region maintained its role as Vietnam's primary growth engine, posting an estimated GRDP increase of 9.74% that outpaced the national average. This top-performing region contributed 36.41% to overall national growth, driven by major economic hubs, manufacturing industries, modern services, and spill over effects from leading localities like Hanoi, Haiphong, Bac Ninh, and Quang Ninh.
