For years, efforts to bring support from the mainland to Bach Long Vi Island have reflected the commitment and sense of responsibility of Hai Phong’s young business community.

A commitment that endures
As Vietnam marks historic days in May, preparations are under way for the 2026 “Young Entrepreneurs for Vietnam’s Seas and Islands” program on Bach Long Vi. The initiative is a key event marking the first congress of the Hai Phong Vietnam Youth Federation for the 2026-2029 term.
Scheduled for May, the program will feature the handover of a "Digital Classroom" to Bach Long Vi Primary School. Equipped with modern desktop computers and a 65-inch LG television, the facility will help students on the remote island gain greater access to digital learning.
Total support for this year’s program is valued at 300 million dong . This includes 60 million dong for Hai Phong’s Youth Volunteers, 30 million dong for tree planting, and 30 million dong in gifts for children and youth on the island.
The 2026 initiative is not a standalone event, but the continuation of a long-standing commitment by the Hai Phong Young Entrepreneurs' Association. For the city’s young business leaders, supporting Vietnam’s seas and islands has become a mission close to the heart.
From 2021 to 2025, the association mobilized more than 3 billion dong for programs aimed at supporting the country’s maritime and island communities.
The projects include solar-powered street lighting along the island’s main roads, the planting of more than 10,000 trees to serve as windbreaks and sand barriers, and the provision of medical equipment for a clinic.
More than 15 digital classrooms and book collections have been established on the island. The association has also awarded 200 scholarships to children from disadvantaged fishing families and donated tens of thousands of national flags to fishermen operating offshore.

Protecting sovereignty at sea
Dang Viet Bach, chairman of the Hai Phong Young Entrepreneurs' Association, said economic development must go hand in hand with social responsibility and the protection of national sovereignty.
“Vietnam’s seas and islands are an inseparable part of the nation. For young entrepreneurs, every trip to the islands is a lesson in patriotism and a reminder that we must work harder to contribute more to our homeland,” he said.
Leaders of the Hai Phong Youth Union and the Hai Phong Vietnam Youth Federation also praised the association’s initiative and enthusiasm, saying the program goes beyond material assistance and the program goes beyond material support and brings the patriotic movement "I Love My Country" to life.
As a coastal city, Hai Phong’s sustainable development is closely tied to the stability and security of its maritime and island areas. In that context, the city’s young entrepreneurs are increasingly asserting their role not only as a driving force for economic growth, but also as active contributors to protecting Vietnam’s maritime sovereignty.
