Hai Phong female entrepreneurs affirm strength and intellect

Hai Phong has recently organized various practical activities to honor its business community. Alongside the pride in a rapidly growing business sector, the city’s female entrepreneurs have been making silent yet enduring contributions to its construction and development.

Over the past 20 years, entrepreneurs in Hai Phong have grown steadily. The city now has more than 43,000 private enterprises, contributing over 40% of GRDP and around 50% of total domestic budget revenue.

Notably, women-led businesses account for about 20 – 25% of the total, creating jobs for thousands of workers, especially women, highlighting their vital role in economic growth and social stability.

The Hai Phong Female Entrepreneurs Association now counts thousands of members, taking the lead among Female Entrepreneurs Associations nationwide in trade promotion and social welfare, and has been awarded a certificate of merit by the Prime Minister.

Many female entrepreneurs have not only steered their businesses through challenges and embraced innovation but have also taken on active community roles, inspiring start-ups and helping Hai Phong maintain double-digit GRDP growth for the past decade, a rare achievement across the country.

Over the past time, the city has prioritized policies to support women-led enterprises in boosting international cooperation, encouraging exports, and promoting innovation.

Particularly, Hai Phong is working on a “Code of Ethics for Hai Phong Entrepreneurs” under the motto “Prosper with integrity – For the community – For the nation,” reflecting the city’s distinctive entrepreneurial culture in a new era.

The city is also implementing special preferential policies under the National Assembly’s Resolution 226, including tax exemptions and reductions for start-ups during the first five years, direct financial support from the budget, incentives in infrastructure and technology, and the establishment of a venture capital fund, creating strong momentum for entrepreneurs, especially women, to innovate and reach regional markets.

Following the direction of Party General Secretary To Lam to build Hai Phong into “a city on par with Asia’s exemplary metropolises, becoming a modern international port city,” the city’s female entrepreneurs are a crucial force, embodying both creativity and social responsibility, as well as a deep aspiration to contribute.

With pioneering courage, innovation, and determination, Hai Phong’s female entrepreneurs are joining the business community in continuing deep integration and elevating the reputation of Hai Phong enterprises on the global stage.
