Hai Phong to shape digital city with aspirations to new era

The Hai Phong People’s Committee opened the Hai Phong Digital Transformation Forum 2025 under the theme “Shaping a digital city – Aspirations for a new era” on December 24 at the city Convention and Performance Center.

In his opening remarks, Vice Chairman of the city People’s Committee Hoang Minh Cuong highlights the city’s outstanding achievements in socio-economic development in 2025. Hai Phong has placed strong emphasis on digital transformation, administrative reform, and improvement of competitiveness by accelerating science and technology development and innovation.

Hai Phong has risen to lead the country in four key indices, namely the Provincial Competitiveness Index, the Public Administration Reform Index, the Satisfaction Index of People and Organizations with Public Administration Services, and the Provincial Green Index.

In particular, in implementing the Politburo’s Resolution 57, Hai Phong identifies green transformation and digital transformation as inevitable pathways to expanding development space, effectively harnessing data resources, and guiding the city’s sustainable development in the new phase, with the aspiration of becoming one of the leading localities in building smart, green and digital cities.

At the forum, experts, scientists, representatives of State management agencies and enterprises discussed and shared experience and digital city and smart urban models.

Experts exchanged views on the National Digital Architecture Framework, thereby analyzing advantages and challenges of Hai Phong in building a digital city, and proposed comprehensive, coordinated and feasible solutions for digital transformation in Hai Phong to go deeper, contributing to enhancing competitiveness, promoting the application of science and technology and innovation, fostering sustainable development, and successfully building a digital city.

According to the organizing committee, many side activities were scheduled within the framework of the forum, including the workshop “High-quality digital human resources shaping a digital city,” along with an exhibition showcasing technological and digital transformation products and solutions.
