Hai Phong ensures harmonious, equitable development among localities

On October 2, Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, together with National Assembly Deputies: Trieu The Hung, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee for Culture and Society; Nguyen Ngoc Son, Standing Member of the National Assembly’s Committee for Science, Technology and Environment; Nguyen Thi Viet Nga, Deputy Head of the Hai Phong Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; and Bui Sy Hoan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Ke Sat commune, met with voters from 13 communes and wards in the western area of the city.

The voters expressed their excitement about the development of Hai Phong after the merger with Hai Duong province. Despite many difficulties, the city firmly overcome challenges and achieved remarkable results. In particular, it successfully organized the first city Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term, which set out a clear and sharp orientation for future development. The voters voiced absolute trust in the leadership of the Party and the bright future of Hai Phong, the country’s third largest city.

Secretary Le Tien Chau sincerely thanked and acknowledged the opinions and recommendations of the voters. He emphasized that the city Party Committee and its Standing Board would continue directing the streamlining and consolidation of the organizational apparatus towards efficiency and effectiveness.

At the same time, they will ensure smooth operation of the two-level government, especially at public administrative service centers, in association with staff rotation and preparation of an overall assessment report under the city Party Committee’s work program.

The Secretary also informed voters of several outstanding socio-economic, defense-security, and foreign affairs achievements in the first nine months of 2025. Notably, 9 out of 13 major socio-economic targets were expected to meet or exceed the growth scenario. Many key projects were launched or inaugurated, creating new momentum for development.

The city Party Committee has set out several key tasks to direct and complete development goals in the coming period. According to the Secretary, the city will enhance cultural and entertainment activities to meet the material and spiritual needs of the people. Special focus will be placed on the preparation and organization of the Con Son – Kiep Bac Autumn Festival, at the largest scale ever, reaffirming the Party Committee and government’s attention to cultural development, heritage promotion, and determination to make tourism a strategic breakthrough for Hai Phong’s growth.

From now until the end of the year, the city People’s Council will amend and promulgate resolutions on social welfare. The guiding principle is that whichever policies are more advanced and beneficial to the people will be given priority. Specific examples include regulations on gifts for beneficiaries on Tet (Lunar New Year), International Children’s Day, War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27), National Day (September 2); support policies for children in special or difficult circumstances; and policies for coaches and athletes.

Secretary Le Tien Chau affirmed to voters in the western area of Hai Phong that the city Party organization and authorities always uphold the spirit of harmonious and equitable development across all localities, ensuring that all citizens benefit from Central bodies’ correct policy of merging the two localities. The city authorities are committed to leaving no one behind, so that every resident of Hai Phong has the opportunity to contribute to and benefit from the city’s common development journey.
