The Ha Noi – Hai Phong Expressway project has been honored with the Karlsruhe Sustainable Finance Award 2026, recognizing the effectiveness of capital mobilization and use for a large-scale transport project.

Vietnam Infrastructure Development and Finance Investment Corporation (VIDIFI) has announced that the Ha Noi – Hai Phong Expressway project has received the Outstanding Innovation in Sustainable Finance Products and Services Award.
The award was presented at the 16th Global Sustainable Finance Conference, held in Karlsruhe, Germany, in late August 2026.
The project, invested in by VIDIFI, was launched in 2008 and completed in December 2015, with total investment of about USD 1.8 billion.
The 105.5-km expressway starts at Ring Road III in Ha Noi, runs through Hung Yen Province, and ends at Dinh Vu Port in Hai Phong City. More than 70 km of the expressway runs through Hai Phong.
The expressway also serves as a vital transport corridor connecting Ha Noi, Hai Phong, Ha Long and Van Don Economic Zone, creating momentum for development in the Northern Key Economic Region and the Red River Delta.
The Ha Noi – Hai Phong Expressway has significantly shortened travel time between Ha Noi and Hai Phong while increasing freight transport capacity and connecting Hai Phong's seaport system with major economic centers in the north.
The Ha Noi – Hai Phong Expressway's recognition at an international sustainable finance award affirms the project's effectiveness while highlighting the role of strategic transport infrastructure in regional connectivity and socio-economic development, with Hai Phong among the localities benefiting directly from the route.
