ETC system has handled massive transaction volumes accurately and efficiently.

After two months in service, the fully automated ETC system has demonstrated its ability to process large volumes of data while ensuring stable revenue collection across the five expressway sections, according to the Vietnam Road Administration.

From March 2 to April 30, 2026, the five sections recorded 5.95 million transactions, generating total revenue of 580.6 billion dong.

On April 30 alone, the ETC system processed 186,068 transactions and collected 14.1 billion dong in toll revenue, nearly 45% above the daily average.

Officials from the Vietnam Road Administration said the system handled heavy traffic accurately and efficiently during the Hung Kings Commemoration Day holiday and the April 30-May 1 holiday, thanks to thorough preparations in infrastructure and technical staffing.

At major traffic bottlenecks, vehicles maintained steady speeds while passing through toll points, underscoring the system's reliable performance across the network.

This is the first deployment of such a technology in Vietnam, requiring complex coordination and data integration among more than 20 toll stations and multiple interconnected systems.

During the initial phase of operations, some localized issues were unavoidable, but all were identified and addressed promptly.
